January 2012 - Software Update AvailableIntrastat Reporting
Intrastat Reporting Following the annual update to the useable commodity codes issued by HMRC, we have released an update to the commodity code validation used for Intrastat reports. SPEX maintains a list of the commodity codes requiring supplementary units to be reported instead of net weights. SPEX checks that items matching this list have supplementary units and will accordingly flag this missing data for user identification. Further details are available in the release notes. All 2011 Intrastat reporting must be completed before proceeding with this Intrastat update and you should ensure the commodity code changes that came into effect at the beginning of 2012 have been applied before the first Intrastat report for 2012 is run. Please note changes introduced by HMRC from April 2012 require the submission of Intrastat reports by the 21st of each month. For further details and how these changes may effect you please use the link below for further information. The following link will help determine any commodity code changes and how these changes affect you: http://www.uktradeinfo.com/index.cfm?task=icn. January 2010 - Software Update AvailableIntrastat, EC Sales List and ADR changesIntrastat Reporting Following the annual update to the useable commodity codes issued by HMRC, we have released an update to the commodity code validation used for Intrastat reports. SPEX maintains a list of the commodity codes requiring supplementary units to be reported instead of net weights. SPEX checks that items matching this list have supplementary units and will accordingly flag this missing data for user identification. This regulatory fix also addresses the changes to the csv file introduced during 2009. Further details are available in the release notes. Please note all 2009 Intrastat reports must be completed before proceeding with this Intrastat update and you should ensure the commodity code changes, that came into effect at the beginning of 2010, have been applied before the first Intrastat report for 2010 is run. The following link will help determine any commodity code changes and how these changes effect you: http://www.uktradeinfo.com/index.cfm?task=icn. Should any further clarification be required please contact HMRC on +44 (0) 1702 367 485. EC Sales List Reporting Changes introduced on the 1st January 2010 now require that Services supplied within the EU are included on the EC Sales List. Regulations require a quarterly report for these and a monthly report for Goods, as well there are also changes to the method to determine the threshold over which an EC Sales list has to be filed. We would recommend that you contact your Local Customs officer for clarification on how these changes may effect you. The changes included in this update reflect the new regulations allowing for the reporting of Services and the printing of the EC Sales list data on the new VAT 101 (and continuation) form. The csv file reporting option has also been updated to reflect these changes. Tunnel Restriction Codes From Jan 2010 the requirements of the ADR 2009 regulations became mandatory. Part of these regulations include the obligation to declare Tunnel Restriction Codes against designated hazardous materials. This SPEX regulatory update includes the use of the TRC on the Dangerous Goods Note and allows for either their manual addition at the time the DGN is created or at the time of hazardous allocation. Details on how these codes are applied has been included with the regulatory fix. The following link to the online ADR2009 publication will provide details on when the Tunnel Restriction Codes are applied and additional details concerning their use. http://www.unece.org/trans/danger/publi/adr/adr2009/09ContentsE.html The updates can be found below and further details are contained in the release notes contained within the zip files:- SPEX PC
