The standard rate of VAT will increase to 20% on 4th January 2011. Instructions on how this rate can be updated in your specific Kewill application are detailed below.
EasyTrade Desktop/Extract for Windows In order for invoices/credit notes to be processed at the new VAT rate of 20% it will be necessary to apply an update to your system. If you do not apply this update then it will not be possible to use the new VAT rate in your invoices and credit notes.
The instructions for installing the VAT rate update can be found below and information on how to switch the VAT rate between 20% and 17.5% as required.

Integrated users should ensure that the files which are being integrated with the application contain the updated VAT rate.
Marks and Spencer's Food Application The standard VAT rate can be updated in the application as required by users. Please follow the instructions which describe the update process.

EasyTrade Web Edition Between 17:30 and 23:59 on Monday 3rd January 2011 Kewill will be updating the default standard VAT rate used on this system from 17.5% to 20%, users should avoid raising invoices during this time. When the new rate is active If you need to raise invoices at the 17.5% VAT rate you will need to update the VAT rate manually. This is a straightforward process and the instructions for this can be found below:-
Updating VAT rates on EasyTrade Web Edition
JDW MTX All JDW suppliers must ensure they have completed all invoicing by 17:30 on Monday 3rd January 2011. After this time the system will be updated to the new VAT rate of 20%. Suppliers should not raise any invoices between 17:30 on Monday 3rd January 2011 and 00:01 on Tuesday 4th January 2011 whilst the system is being updated.
Mothercare Trade Mothercare have advised Kewill they will be sending a number of product refreshes when the VAT rate changes. Suppliers need take no action as these refreshes will contain the updated VAT rate.
Tesco Web System (www.tesco.kewill.net) Users of the Tesco Web System are able to update the standard VAT rate as required, the steps for this are detailed below:-

Sainbury's Web System (www.sainsburys.kewill.net) The system allows the users to set the relevant VAT rate on a per product basis.
BHS Application BHS will be issuing a product refresh after the VAT rate change that will update the standard VAT rate. Suppliers will be receiving an email communication from BHS describing how invoices should be submitted at the time of the change.
Kewill Retail Xchange (KRX) and Insurance Xchange (KIX) These systems do not perform any VAT calculations and therefore will not be affected by any VAT rate changes. However customers should check their EDI application to ensure these different VAT rates can be handled.
Clearing House The Clearing House system itself does not perform any VAT calculations and therefore will not be affected by any VAT rate changes. However customers should check their EDI application to ensure these different VAT rates can be handled.
Dunelm Tradeforms The standard VAT rate can be updated in the application as required by users. Please follow the instructions which describe the update process. The default VAT code will be changed to 20% on 17/01/2011.
How to update the VAT rate on the Dunelm Tradeforms solution
eBiz-Manager If you use your eBiz-Manager application for sending or receiving invoices or credit notes you are advised to check the mappings to ensure that they will be able to handle the recently announced changes in the VAT rate. If you do not process invoices or credit files then you need take no action. The application itself will handle the VAT rate change without issue, however mappings will need to be checked carefully and updated if applicable to ensure the correct VAT rate is being displayed and used in any calculations.
SPEX We expect that many of our SPEX users will be unaffected following any changes to the standard rate. We do however recognise that although SPEX is primarily an export system we do have customers that have requirements for billing VAT on their invoices. Please find below details concerning the configuration requirements for both SPEX PC and SPEX CS that allows for any new rate of standard VAT to be applied to the SPEX configuration and invoices:-

Export Manager For companies who do not apply VAT to export invoices, no action is necessary when the standard UK VAT rate changes from 17.5% to 15%. For customers who do apply VAT some further information is available below:-
