REGULATIONS AND TRADE UPDATE
EXPORT LICENSING
Those involved in export licensed goods should be aware that there are
changes to the Control Lists from Wassenar and also some National Controls

AUTHORISED ECONOMIC OPERATOR
SYSTEM (AEO).
Authorised Economic Operator system (AEO) Scheme application
process has begun and updated information on the requirements can
be obtained here
DANGEROUS GOODS
Please note that the Dangerous goods “Proper Shipping Name” format is
now consistent across all modes of Transport. SITPRO have published
an updated version of the Dangerous Goods guideline document which can

EUROPEAN COMMISSION NEW ONLINE
INFORMATION ON TAXES
The EU have launched a database which contains information of taxes
in all EU member states. The database lists for each individual tax,
information on its legal basis, assessment base, main exemptions, applicable
rate(s), economic and statistical classification, as well as the generated
revenue. The information is listed in the form of a downloadable file. For

EU VAT RECLAIMS
Updated lists of addresses in the Member States to which claims for
refunds under the 8th VAT Directive should be made and the minimum amounts
refundable has recently been published on our http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/taxation/vat/traders/vat_refunds/index_en.htm
CUSTOMS (UK)
NES EXPORT DECLARATIONS
The new version of NES (SAD-H project) has been delayed off and on now for
some time. However the latest statement from Customs says that the start
date will be 1st October and that dual running with old SAD will
continue until midnight on the 20th January. From 0001 on Monday
21st January all old codes will be unacceptable.
Revised details on how to complete an export
declaration and associated codes for new system.
There is also a list of changes made since the last update of the declaration
completion guidelines.
EXPORT CONTROL SYSTEM (ECS)
You may be aware of the Export Control system which covers shipments
where the point of exit from the E.U. is not the U.K. A new notice has
been issued from Customs JCCC committee on the procedures which can be

ELECTRONIC INVOICING AND VAT
A new public notice on this ubject has been issued by Customs which
can be downloaded from here
INTRASTAT
Please note the links for Intrastat can take some time to respond
HM Revenue & Customs is seeking the views of both data providers
and users on various Intrastat Simplification options that are being
