Import / Export in Empire
To create an Output file from the Empire software you will need to switch on the ‘Produce Output File’ flag within the SiteInfo’, making sure you click on the ‘Save’ button when actioned.
Once you have saved this, close the window and you will see that the ‘Output File’ button is now live.
You will need to enter the ‘Output File’ option and set the file structure up to your own requirements. Using both the ‘Parameters’ and ‘Data Elements’ options.
This will now create a file called ‘*.OUT’ in the Empire directory when a new file is processed in the software.
To create the Input file you will need to create a new text document within the Empire directory called ‘Confirm.tmp’. Within this file you will need to enter the barcode numbers of the orders either by barcode or manually. As an example of how this should look see below.
Once you have entered these numbers ‘Save’ the file and go into ‘Despatches’ on the main screen.
You will now see the orders that you have dispatched within this screen.
