BT Error 27 – Com port is already open

Please carry out these instructions to try to resolve the problem:

Close all other communication software (restarting the PC if necessary) and retry the link
Check that the modem cable is connected to the PC securely
Try another COM port (if possible)
If your modem is External, turn the power off for 10 seconds
If your modem is Internal, close all programs and reboot the PC

Once the modem has been reset simply try connecting once again.

If this still does not resolve the issue then carry out the following:

1) In Konnexions click on ‘Setup’ and select ‘Mailboxes’

2) Double click on the mailbox with the code of ‘BTWINC’ and click ‘Next’ through to the ‘Modem’ screen

3) Change the Initialise string to ‘AT&F’ and the reset string to ‘ATH’, making a note of what the original strings are

4) Click ‘Next’ through to and including ‘Finish’, then close the mailbox window

5) Once again reset your modem, by either of the above means and try another link
