How To - Reduce Modem Speed

Please follow the instructions below to reduce the speed of your modem:

Windows 95, 98 or ME

1) Open Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel)

2) Double-click the Modems icon

3) From the list, select the modem that will be used by Konnexions.

4) Click the Properties button

5) Reduce the Maximum Speed setting (this should be no more than 57600).

6) Click OK

7) Click Close to close the Modems Properties window

Windows 2000 and XP

1) Open Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel)

2) Double-click the Phones and Modem options icon

3) Select the Modems tab

4) From the list, select the modem that will be used by Konnexions.

5) Click the Properties button

6) Reduce the Maximum Port Speed setting (this should be no more than 57600).

7) Click OK

8) Click OK to close the Phone and Modem Options window
