How To - Find your IBM Network (AT&T) password
Important:
If you have changed your password or have had your password reset since
upgrading to Konnexions then these instructions will not help you to discover
your password.
When linking for the first time after installing Konnexions
v1, you will be prompted to enter your AT&T password (previously know
as the Information Global Network password). You should have made a note
of this before installing the upgrade, if you did not then please refer
to the instructions below:
For Konnexions v1s...
To find your AT&T password for Konnexions v1s:
1) Open Windows Explorer
2) Open the C:\WINLINK folder
3) Open the EXPWIN folder
4) Open the WIN_EXP.INI file using Notepad
5) Find the line starting with INPassword=
6) Your AT&T password is the value after the equals
sign. You can either copy and paste this value into the AT&T dialer,
or make a note of the password to enter it into the AT&T dialer
manually.
NOTE:
Take special care to differentiate between numbers and letters - often
passwords contain numbers instead of letter, for example 0 (zero)
instead of O, or 1 (one) instead of I.
If you have more than one IBM mailbox configured, you
will need to repeat the above for each mailbox. The convention is for
each IBM mailbox to have a separate EXPWIN folder, for example EXPWIN2,
EXPWIN3, etc. The line above your password in the WIN_EXP.INI file usually
refers to the AT&T User ID.
For Konnexions v1c...
To find your AT&T password for Konnexions v1c:
1) Run the System Administration program (Start
> Programs > Extract for Windows > System Administration).
2) From the EDI Setup menu select IBM
Mailboxes
3) Click the Edit button
4) Your AT&T password is the value in the entry
field labeled Password under the Information Network Account
Details section.
5) Click the Cancel button to close the Edit IBM
Mailbox... window
If you have more than one IBM mailbox configured, you
will need to repeat the above for each mailbox.
