How To - Change your IBM and AT&T passwords

This article describes how to change your IBM Information Exchange password and your AT&T Global Network password.

 Changing the AT&T dialer password

If you wish to change your AT&T dialer password (previously know as the Information Global Network password), follow the instructions below:

1) Run the AT&T Dialer (Start > Programs > AT&T Dialer)

2) If you have more than one IBM mailbox, ensure that the correct mailbox is selected from the Login profile list.

3) Click the Change button next to the password entry field - this will display the Change Password pop-up window.

4) Enter your current password in the current password entry field.

5) Enter a new password of your choosing in the new password entry field.

6) Enter your new password a second time in the confirm new password entry field to verify its spelling.

Note: Your selected password must conform to the new password rules to be accepted by the system.

7) Click the OK button

8) Click the Connect button. The dialer will connect to the AT&T network; once connected you will receive confirmation that 'Your password has been changed'.

9) Disconnect from AT&T by closing the AT&T Global Network - [Network View] window and clicking Yes when asked if you want to disconnect.

If your password expires, you will be prompted to change it during login. An expired password means that your password has not been changed within the expiration period set up for your account - passwords normally expire every 130 days. This is a security precaution designed to limit exposure to accidentally compromised passwords.

 Resetting the AT&T dialer password

Your account will be locked if you attempt to link 3 times with an incorrect AT&T password. Please contact us to have your AT&T password reset (please also refer to related articles below).

 AT&T New Password Rules

The following rules apply to new passwords for most accounts:

1) A new password must begin with an alphabetic character.
2) A new password cannot be the same as the seven previous passwords.
3) Passwords must be at least 5 characters long
4) Passwords are limited to a maximum of 8 characters.

 Information Exchange password
