Dialer Setup window opens when trying to connect

When trying to connect; instead of dialing, the AT&T dialer opens the Dialer Setup window shown below:

     Resolution 1

Please carry out the following steps to resolve:

1) Close the Expedite Base window (File > Exit iebase)
2) If prompted "A communications session is currently in progress. Are you sure you want to quit ?" then select "Yes".
3) Close the Konnexions Executing Task window.
3) Close Konnexions v1s (File > Exit)
4) Click here to download and run the Kewill AT&T Configuration Tool.
5) The configuration tool will automatically re-configure the AT&T dialer.
6) Try connecting again as you would do normally using Konnexions.

If this does not resolve your problem then please proceed to resolution 2.

      Resolution 2

Please follow these instructions to try to resolve the problem:

1) From the screen shown above, click Next
2) Select "Yes, I have a business account", click Next
3) Ensure that your account and user ID (previously know as the Information Global Network Account and User ID) are correct, click Next
4) Select "My company's private intranet" and ensure that "Standard secure IP" is selected. Click Next
5) Ensure that only "Web, email, and other TCP/IP services" is ticked and click Next.
6) Leave both the primary and secondary DNS as blank and try to click next. (If nothing happens then skip to resolution 3 below)
7) If prompted "A name server is usually needed..." then click No
8) Ensure that the correct modem is selected from the modems list (NOTE: Do not select Direct Parallel or WAN Miniport). Click Next
9) Click "Dial Properties"
10) If you do not have a dial location defined, or if the dial location is called “New Location” then click the “New” button to create a new dial location.
11) Check the details of your dial location – on some systems you will need to click “Edit” to view the dial location details. Ensure that the following details are correct:

Location Name – give the dial location a meaningful name, for example Office or Manchester

Country / region – this needs to be the country that you are calling from, or example United Kingdom

Area code – this is the area code for your telephone number, for example 01692

Dialing rules – if you need to dial a prefix (e.g. 9) to get an outside line then please ensure that this is set correctly for both Local and Long Distance calls

When all the details are correct click OK (you may need to click OK again to return to the Dialer Setup)

12) Back at the "Where are you calling from?" screen click the first "Change" button
13) Select the first "Nationwide" number from the list and click OK
14) Back at the "Where are you calling from?" screen click the second "Change" button
15) Select the second "Nationwide" number from the list and click OK
16) Click Finish and the AT&T Dialer will automatically attempt to dial. If it connects successfully then close the connection and try linking with Konnexions.

      Resolution 3

If the Dialer Setup will not let you passed the "What are the addresses of your company's name servers (DNS)?" screen then please try the following:

1) Enter the default DNS server address of 165.87.194.244 in both the Primary and Secondary edit boxes.
2) Click Next and continue from step 8 of resolution 2 (above).

In some circumstances you may not be able to use the default DNS server and the AT&T dialer will drop the connection as soon as you try to dial, you will then receive an error. If this happens then you will need to change to DNS server addresses to values that are valid on your network - please call support if this occurs.

If you still experience problems after following these instructions, please don’t hesitate to contact Kewill and advise of the same or new error.

back - begin again
