Error 19011 – Unable to connect to host

Problem: The AT&T dialer redials multiple times, Expedite fails to connect to Information Exchange and Konnexions normally returns error 19011.

Solution 1: Please try linking again.

Solution 2: If you continue to have problems, please follow these instructions to try to resolve the problem:

1) Make sure the modem is plugged in to the computer and the telephone wall socket.
2) Shut down and restart the computer.
3) If the modem is external, switch off for approximately 10 seconds, then switch back on.
4) Try linking once again.

Solution 3: If you continue to have problems and you have Firewall software installed on your computer, please call support.

Solution 4: If you still receive the same error, please follow the steps below relevant for your operating system. Important: If your computer is attached to a local area network (LAN), please consult your network administrator before proceeding:

Windows 95, 98 and ME
1) Open Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel)
2) Double-click the Network icon.
3) For each of the listed network components that start with TCP/IP -> (e.g. TCP/IP -> DialUp Adapter), follow the steps below:

a) Select the TCP/IP network component from the list.
b) Click the Properties button.
c) If a TCP/IP Properties Information dialog box appears then click OK.
d) On the IP Address tab, ensure that Obtain an IP address automatically is selected.
e) Click OK.

4) When you have repeated the above for all the listed TCP/IP components, click OK to close the Network window.
5) Try linking again with Konnexions.

Windows NT
1) Open Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel)
2) Double-click the Network icon.
3) Select the Protocols tab.
4) Select TCP/IP Protocol from the list of network protocols.
5) Click the Properties button.
6) For each Adapter listed on the drop-down list, follow the steps below:

a) Select the Adapter from the list.
b) Ensure that Obtain an IP address automatically is selected.

7) When you have repeated the above for all the listed Adapters, click OK to close the Microsoft TCP/IP Properties window.
8) Click OK to close the Network window.
9) Try linking again with Konnexions.

Windows 2000 and XP
There is no specific resolution for this issue on Windows 2000 or XP.
